About Me

My name is Mike Bass and I graduated from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC in 2006 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Upon Gradution I went into secondary mathematicsĀ education at Mary Baldwin Universtiy and graduated in 2008. After a few years teaching I decided to go back to school and receive my M.A. In Mathematics Education from Western Governors University in 2015.

I become a substitute teacher in 2006 and eventually moved into an intructional assistant role in 2009 at William Byrd High School in VA. I worked as an instruction assistant until a job opened up for a math position at the school in 2011. I was a Geometry, Computer Math, and Remedial math tutor during my time there. In 2019 my wife graduated with her PhD and received a job at the Univeristy of Northern Iowa, where at this time I was offered a job at Waterloo West High School.
